Vaginal microbiome test
Adding the vaginal microbiome test can be a game-changer for understanding and managing various conditions from obvious disruptions such as thrush and BV, through to stealth links to infertility and pelvic pain.
Vaginal dysbiosis, or an imbalance in the vaginal microbiome, is a major factor in recurrent conditions like bacterial vaginosis (BV), vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC), and other infections. An imbalance typically involves a decrease in protective Lactobacillus species and the presence of disruptive bacteria, leading to issues beyond immediate symptoms, including increased susceptibility to STIs/STDs, and even inability to conceive.
The vaginal microbiome test can benefit those experiencing symptoms of recurrent infections, chronic pelvic discomfort, or inflammation, and is also vital for supporting pregnancy outcomes such as preventing some incidences of GBS (group-B strep) or pre-term birth.
